Our intimate chapel, which seats up to 35 people, features comfortable seating, new audio-visual equipment, and live streaming for those who cannot attend in person. We also provide a reception area for catering after the service, a large private viewing room, and a smaller private viewing room. Our arrangement room is filled with natural light, and we have a dedicated casket display room.
As a locally family-owned funeral provider with over 20 years of experience, we take great pride in serving our community. We are the only Hastings-based company with a qualified embalmer, funeral director, and registered celebrant on site, ensuring our families receive the highest standards of care and service.
We are proud members of Celebrants New Zealand, and the New Zealand Embalmer Association. Our membership in these associations requires us to adhere to a strict code of ethics and participate in ongoing training to stay current with modern practices.
At Gentle Touch Funerals, we provide a variety of services, including direct cremations, private family services, and full family services. We make pre-planning and pre-paying simple and convenient. You can make arrangements at our funeral home, in the comfort of your own home, or online.

In 2006 I was given the opportunity to be part of Gentle Touch Funeral Services, since then Gentle Touch Funerals has grown in providing the Hastings area with a funeral home that gives the highest of standards with truly personalised services to all of our families. Having lived here my whole life I enjoy the community I call home. Being able to help families is humbling, and gives me appreciation of life. I am very passionate about offering families what I would expect if I was in their situation and believe that everyone is individual, just like our services. My wife and I enjoy travelling and new adventures, we are very lucky to have a beautiful daughter and two grand daughters that live locally and we enjoy spending time with them making beautiful memories. I have a passion for motor sport of all types, and when I get a chance a game of golf at one of our local courses. It is important to me to be honest and treat others like you want to be treated. I carry this through to helping families in their time of need. Having worked as a funeral director for over 15 years I believe that looking after a families loved one is so important, to maintain a persons dignity while caring for them like they are one of your own.
Passionate, calming, empathetic and a great sense of humour is how my friends, family and colleagues would describe me,
Also a woman of many talents and trades.
I moved to the beautiful Hawkes Bay 5 years ago from sunny Nelson, where I have settled into the gorgeous spot of East Clive with my husband and two very energetic but awesome children.
Previously I was a trainer for Air NewZealand flight attendants for nearly 9 years and over that time I thoroughly enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life, hearing their stories and of course the travel.
Since giving up my flying career to be a mum, I soon discovered that I wasn't cut out for the stay at home mum role as I missed the interaction with people, so ventured off to start my own business of event planning/catering and 9 years ago became a registered New Zealand Celebrant.
With over 15 years of public speaking experience and a real passion for people and their wellbeing, I spend more of my time doing what I love and that's being a celebrant/director for weddings and funeral services, where I listen, take on board families needs and create a personal service to reflect that special someone's personality and their wishes.
Knowing I can help families at such a difficult time and provide ease, comfort and a helping hand, whilst reflecting on that loved ones life is extremely important to me.
I am surrounded by my loving family situated in a semi-rural setting here in Hawkes Bay. I enjoy the outdoors, gardening, and flower arranging. I was educated at Puketapu School, Hukarere Maori Girls College. I then studied and graduated with a Diploma in Travel & Tourism which enabled me to join the Airline industry, I was able to travel around the world, meeting all walks of life and a lot of fabulous people along the way. I am very down-to-earth, approachable, and easy to talk to. I am humbled to be able to help people through one of the most difficult times of their lives and to be a part of the great team here at Gentle Touch Funerals.
